Prepare Specific Questions
Most people don’t get readings just for kicks. There’s usually a reason behind it. So have a list of questions and make sure they are as specific as possible. It’s not going to benefit your reading if you keep throwing out vague questions, just to see if the reader is good. You wouldn’t like to have a relationship with someone who does that in real life, so why would you do that to your reader?
Clear Your Mind
It’s probably safe to assume that if you’re going for a reading that you must have a lot on your mind. But in order to get the most out of your reading, try to relax yourself the days leading up to the reading, and especially the day of. Do some deep breathing or mediation to help you stay calm and centered. Your reader may sense your frazzled energy, and it may the throw the reading off if you’re not focused.
Be Open in Your Reading
You may have had specific questions that you wanted answered, but a great psychic will often pick up on all sorts of information. If they start talking about something else, don’t let it frazzle you. Usually, they’ll ask if you mind beforehand. Try to be open to whatever information comes up, because everything happens for a reason. You may learn something that could change your life.
Take a Lot of Notes
You’ve spent your hard earned money on this reading, so you better make sure you remember it. The best way to do this is by taking notes, either by hand, or you can also record your reading. Oftentimes things may come up during the reading that don’t make sense, so it’ll be helpful to have a reference later on. Notes are also great to have handy because you can go back and confirm things that come true in the future.
Don’t Feed Them Answers
A true psychic will never have to ask you leading questions in order to guess answers for you. However, there may be times when a psychic says “there’s someone here that liked to smoke cigars, does this resonate with you?” A simple “yes” answer will suffice. You don’t need to provide any other information. It’s actually even better if you just ask them to tell whatever they’re getting up front, and then clarify things after.
Speak up if it Doesn’t Feel Right
Psychics are humans and can have off days, like any other normal human being. They may be sick, or have gotten into an argument with someone. All of these things can affect their reading. If you notice early on into the reading that things seem off, please speak up right away. Don’t wait until the end of the reading to state your dissatisfaction. It’s better that you end it early, rather than be bitter about a bad reading.
Don’t Show up Under The Influence
This should go without saying, but nonetheless some psychics have said that this has happened before. Do not show up to your reading intoxicated or on drugs. It’s not respectful of the psychic, and your judgment will be clouded throughout the reading. This is basic common courtesy. Would you want your psychic to be drunk during your reading?
Don’t Expect Everything to be Perfect
Sometimes psychics only gets hits of information. For example, they may only get an initial, rather than an entire name. Or they may see a car, but not an exact color or type. If this is the case, don’t let it throw you. No psychic can be 100 percent accurate. If they’re giving you other great information, then consider that a successful reading.
Have Fun
Last but not least, make sure you’re having fun! This is supposed to be an enjoyable experience. So many people go into readings uptight, or with their guard up. A psychic will immediately be able to pick up on this energy and it may hinder the reading just a touch.
All in all, you should treat your psychic experience much like you would a job interview. Be upbeat, transparent and look like you want to be there. If you give out great energy, then you can be sure that you’ll receive the same in return. All the best on your first reading!
